The Louisiana State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (LSBEP) provides an on-line License Verification System, which allows you to search for both active and inactive licenses. This list will provide you with the name, address and telephone number last recorded with the LSBEP. Any member of the public may contact the LSBEP at 225-763-3935 to obtain information on the current status of a license, however, additional information, such as date of licensure or prior disciplinary actions, is available for purchase only through the on-line License Verification system or via written request.

Effective February 20, 2013, the cost for obtaining a Standard Licensure Verification is $15 per license and contains the following information: name, license number, declared specialty, profession, current license status, date of issue, expiration date, and existence of past disciplinary actions. There is an additional fee of $25 to obtain copies of an order or agreement related to past disciplinary actions. The information on this system is maintained by the LSBEP, is current, and is considered a primary source verification.

When making written requests for verifications, include a check or money order payable to the Louisiana State Board of Examiners of Psychologists to 8280 YMCA Plaza Drive, Building 8-B, Baton Rouge, LA 70810.

In addition to providing individual verifications, the Board provides a mailing list of current licensees. This list is available only by written request, however, you may receive the list electronically (in excel format) or by mail (peel-n-stick mailing labels). The cost for obtaining a mailing list is $100.
